Big Boi’s oft-delayed album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, finally dropped today. The full album has been up on his Myspace page for a while now. Finally got around to listening to it last week and was blown away. I definitely slept on him as Andre has been severely overshadowing him with his show stealing feature verses. But this album is TUFF!! I’m a longtime Outkast stan so I made sure to cop it first thing this morning. Check out the stream on myspace and be sure to cop it if you’re diggin it too. This song, You Ain’t No DJ, is easily one of my favorites on the album. Three Stacks produced the record but I was more impressed by the standout verses from up-and-coming, Alabama bred emcee Yelawolf. Big Boi did his thing as well but Yela’s flow and lyrics on this joint are straight retarded. He has a record out called Good to Go featuring Bun B that’s kinda tuff too – if not a more traditional dirty south cut – but the flow is still there. I love to hear new emcees that come out with a fresh style and sound. Something the game’s been lacking. Hella excited to hear more material from this kidd.
